Drive or Fly

There used to be a time when I preferred to drive for most of my long-distance vacations. I enjoyed going from state to state and seeing the way the landscape changed, the local fruit and vegetable stands displayed different produce, and even how the style of architecture would take on a different look from region to region.
With gas as expensive as it is right now, I am changing my tune. I am still able to find pretty cheap flights to DC to see my dad. I will simply rent a car once I get there and in the long run, I will be saving not only gas costs, but the wear and tear on my vehicle. In some markets, Advantage has http://www.advantage.com/ deals for as little as $19.99 a day. They have locations in Orlando, so I am actually familiar with their service.
As an aside, one of the unique things about Advantage that I like is that they offer an AIG Mexico Entry Surcharge option, which is handy when you think about the fact that most people will tell you not toe take your own car into Mexico. Keep that in mind when traveling south of the border.
