The Economy Impacts Everyone
I’m glad the government is attempting to address issues of the economy, although it is simply not enough to read a report that this committee or that research project comes back with the finding that the United States may be heading for a recession. I think everyone already sees that clearly. In fact, most of us are wondering is depression might not be a more accurate word.
Now, let’s see the government work to do something about it. I think we need to start with foreign trade practices. If China wants to sell good here, they need to be highly taxed. God knows that American businesses pay a high price to do business in other countries and it is stomping out industry in our nation.
The current real estate crisis in the nation is simply a symptom of the overall financial condition of our country. I do not think it is the cause at all, as some have speculated. I know reports say that some areas are in better shape than others. When it comes to real estate, Branson looks as good as Knoxville or Chicago or Tampa to me these days. I am not sure I can get a foothold in any of those places. But, I want to try. It is the great American dream; or part of it anyway. I owned large homes with my ex-husband and now my dream extends to being able to do it all over again, this time on my own.
If only the economy would level out.
