It Gets Cold in Florida, Too

You might have the idea that Florida is forever warm and balmy. Indeed, it gets hot here in the summer, but we do have our share of cold weather as well. I saw more of it when I lived in North Florida up in Gainesville, but I see it here in the Tampa Bay area, too – despite the fact that we are actually in a sub tropical location. We have frosts and mitten days, just less of them than the rest of the nation.

In fact, you don’t want to toss out your sweaters and down comforters when you move to Florida. If you have the room to store them, they still come in handy. In fact, some people like to sleep with very cold air conditioned homes in the summer and pile on the blankets. I’m not one of them, but my ex was. I will sleep on the sheet without a blanket, but even in the dead of summer than man would wrap up in down filled blankets. It takes all types, right?

This morning my daughter and I walked out of the house in short sleeves. It will warm up by this afternoon, but if I had been doing things by the book, I would have had a jacket on my daughter. It was absolutely chilly enough.
