Life on Florida’s West Coast

High Arch Faucets

Somehow I ended up on dish duty on my birthday. :) That’s OK. My mom made me an old-fashioned one-egg cake with tart lemon butter cream frosting. We also have roasted chicken and dumplings waiting for dinnertime. She has been working on the food for hours, so I am more than willing to do the clean up work.

We have this giant stock pot that came from my grandmother’s estate. I mean GIANT. It’s one of those things that’s a bear to wash if you are tying to put it underneath a standard height faucet.

At my prior house I had one of those super High Arch designer Moen faucets. Not only did it look great, but getting big pans and baking sheets underneath was a snap. My master plan only called for a standard arch faucet in the kitchen, but I can see that going ahead with one of the more sweeping models from Faucet.com. A happy cook is a, well…. a happy cook.

I’m Ok, I Swear

I treated myself to a nap after taking Gigi to school this morning and I see now that I missed a lot of calls on my cell phone. For all of you who called, thank you and I will try to call you back soon. I’m sure you can understand my desire to be a little indulgent today ?

No big plans. I think my sister and nephew are coming by this afternoon. Mom will be here and Gigi, of course. There will be cake. Aside from that I haven’t made any plans. I’m just happy to have so many family members and wonderful friends remember me.
