I was reading Jade’s blog again this morning and she was talking earlier this week about weight loss and what she feels like she should look like, what is a comfortable weight, how she wants to look when other people see her, all of the things that go through a girl’s mind when you consider your own body. It got me thinking about how I had made a big decision when I came back from my grandmother’s funeral in September to work on my body.
I gained a LOT of weight in my marriage and also when I was pregnant. I was in a miserable marriage. I had accepted it, but it did not change the fact that my marriage took a strong, independent woman and changed her into someone afraid to cross her husband, who was yelled at daily and blamed for his every disappointment in life. I could on forever about all of that, but the point here is that I started thinking while I was reading Jade’s post that I know what she means when she says she is just ready to be herself again.
I need to double back and begin again on my motivation. I am still staying away from fast food and eating out as often. That has helped. But, I have backed off on the exercise and I am back to snacking at night a bit. I don’t need a bowl of soup if I am not rally hungry. It just feels nice to eat it. That mindset has to stop now.
That said, I need to go get dressed. My friend’s father died and the viewing is in a little bit.
My plan is going well enough. At least I feel a little better knowing I’m no longer contributing. Cheese and crackers have become my standby when I just absolutely can’t ignore boredom hunger, and I’m trying to keep junk food out of the house completely. Though that’s not the easiest task when my month friend is around.
I’m hoping my doc will be able to help with a change in the pills I’m currently taking.
I wish you luck!
try snacking on nuts because you’ll get a lot more satisfaction out of them than crackers and they’re a lot better for you.
if you have a nut allergy, well…
yogurt–if you have stonyfield farms where you live…these folks make the BEST non-fat yogurt I’ve ever tasted. It tastes rich and creamy.
I’m not big on non-fat anything,but it’s soooo good.
you can make a nice snack with some sugar free jello pudding (vanilla), fat free whipped topping and fruit mixed with the yogurt.
If you want the recipe, just contact me.
Even though I’m not a fan of ’sugar free’ items as a rule, it’s still yummy.
It’s good to have in the fridge when you’re looking for a creaminess that only ice cream will help.
Ice cream is my kryptonite, so I like to have this yogurt/pudding thingy in the fridge.
Keep on truckin’!
Also another way to get rid of the boredom hunger is to drink 16 ounces of water. If you’re still hungry after that, have a snack.
Ya have to trick yourself. Sooner or later, it will work.
