Ah, sweet technology.
So, what about this guy in Georgia who had is iPod burst into flames while it was in his pocket? The guy works in a kiosk at the airport. Things combusting in your pants while on duty in an airport might cause more than a fair share of security issues.
He is not the first person to claim their iPod caught fire. Some suspect the lithium ion batteries are to blame, much like the batteries that were causing laptops to catch fire.
I think I will stick to listening to music at home and in my car, thank you very much. I don’t need to look over and see my Coach bag blazing while I’m playing in the park with my daughter.
I’ve never had trouble with my iPod, but my cell phone is a different story.
My cell’s battery cover gets to the point I can barely touch it if I talk on the phone for more than about 20 minutes. Conveniently…. it’s a lithium ion battery.
