I Won’t Live in a Fog
I get headaches. If there is a classification for a type of headache; I’ve had it. I can pretty much tell what kinds of meds, if any, I need to take based on where the headache has originated and how severe it is.
Tension, sinus, migraine: I know them all. I actually get them a lot less often these days. I think it has to do with being done with the classes I was taking right up through this past July. Also, I’m out of the marital house and taking some time off from the workforce (just for a little while). I have needed to allow myself a lower-stress lifestyle for some time now. My body is trying to thank me.
I am not one to keep strong pain killers around the house. I use the most minimal therapy possible for my aches and pain. In fact, I have headaches that can often be lessened by drinking a cup of coffee. If you are someone who is looking for frequent headache, muscle, or osteoarthritis relief; then you know what I mean. You can choose to spend your life doped up, or you can search for remedies that allow you to both ease the pain AND be present in your daily life. I’m not into living in a fog.
So, if you have any herbal or alternative tips for headache and pain relief, send them my way.
And if you get suggestions for headaches, please post about them. My son is suffering right now from what appears to be a migraine (noises hurt, bright lights, the TV) He’s only 13 and from what I have read online, they tend to treat this with daily doses of medicine regardless if they have a headache that day or not. I would like to have a more natural approach.
The one thing that helps me sometimes for migraines is caffeine. Sometimes coffee helps and other times an over the counter med like Excedrin Migraine (which is chock full of caffeine) will do the trick.
I don’t want to be on every day meds, either.
I actually have some Excedrin Migraine that I forgot I had. It might be expired though as I bought it eons ago. He is just coming off strep throat, and I read that infections will produce headaches as well. His step dad is leaning towards the infection as the cause, and I’m just being the over paranoid mom wondering if it’s more. Thanks for the tip
I hope he begins to feel better.
Make sure he is not dehydratred. That can cause headaches. So could a sinus infection. Studies now show sinus headaches often move into being migrianes.
Thanks again Angie. He doesn’t drink enough water, at all!
