Life on Florida’s West Coast

Come Cruise With Me

I’ve never been on a cruise. I wanted to go for my honeymoon, but at the time my “other half” could not leave the country due to his Visa status. Maybe he can go on a cruise for his next honeymoon now that he is getting his citizenship. He can thank me for that. I sponsored him, like a fool.

Anyway, with ships docking right here in the Tampa Bay, there is no reason for me to not look into the Caribbean cruises that leave from here. When most people plan a cruise they also have to factor in the cost of airfare to a port, hotel stays in the port town, etc. I’m right here when the ships dock. That’s a natural savings right there.

Of course, one must remember not to book a cruise in the Caribbean during hurricane season, and that lasts until the end of November. It’s all about timing. I want to capture the savings a lot of cruise lines offer for “off-season”, but I also want to make sure I’m not going when the boat might be blown asunder. I’m a little attached to life, you know.

So, it looks like my options are to either choose a family cruise and take Gigi (which would not be much like a vacation, really) or to take a girlfriend with me. I am not yet to the point where I want to go alone.

Cruises are the best! I went on my honeymoon and though I gained a lot of weight, it was AWESOME!

Cruises are wonderful and they have great child friendly cruises. Disney has a family package that is affordable and although they use a Carnival ship, I hear they’re great.
Personally, I think your first cruise should be with a small group of friends.
It’s relaxing and depending on the cruise line you can have a blast.
There is always food. Always activities and marginally entertaining shows.
I’ve even thought about working on one as a comic.
Just to get a free trip.
My parents went on the original ‘Love Boat’ before it became ‘The love boat’ and we have photos of them on the famous staircase.
Funny, ain’t it?
Ah, well…
I’ll watch Little Liza while you and Corey go…
Marcus and I will watch her…
heh.

So, Marcus is your new regular Sunday BBQ date? I have not heard from Jason in some time, but I am lead to beleive he holds no grudge. That is a good thing, because it means I can keep him in my back pocket — so to speak.

Corey, on the other hand, is driving me nutty. We keep getting hang up calls from Europe.

Yeah, I guess Marcus is my new guy.
Jason is always so patient. He just takes things slowly.
Don’t know what to tell you about Corey. I think that my powerpoint presentation went to his head.

Tried to locate him in NYC.
Not sure where he is…probalby upper west side.
Will investigate tomorrow for you.
