The Bunkbed Update: we’re like the odd couple

Last night was the 2nd night my daughter and I shared a bedroom. We have bunkbed, though I have in a sort ofg L-shape so she has a place to store toys under hand my bed.

We’re like the odd couple. She has professed repeatedly that she likes her room messy. I like to have at least my bedroom tidy, so even if the rest of the house is a wreck I have a calm retreat. I like to sleep in the pitch black with n o noise. She needs a nightlight and talks in her sleep.

Let’s focus on this talking in her sleep thing! The kid pretty much narrates her entire dream time at full voume. All night. I thought for sure that several times she was actually talking to me, but it turns out she was blissfully asleep and merely engaged in a conversation with Dream Mommy.

At one point she climbed up in bed with me. She was still asleep, and very vocal. It was miserable. I can foresee a whole lot of sleepless nights coming my way.
