Out of the house
Except for a few boxes full of odds and ends, I am all but out of the big house. Tonight we will sleep here at my mom’s house — in our bunk beds. Life is so different from one year ago, and especially since two years ago.
I was talking to my ex today to try and iron out some of the real estate issues for putting the house on the market. He thinks I should take my savings and try to buy a house. He says houses are “dirt cheap” right now. Apparently, there are several markets in the US that are experiencing a “V” chart, in other words a sharp decline that will not last long before it shoots right back up. Hmmm.
I just wish I could get the heck out of Florida. I love this state. I really do. It’s lovely, but the issue we are having with property taxes and homeowner’s insurance scares the socks off me when I try to think about buying a house on my own. I like to get online at night and look at other markets. Last night I poked around on sites for beaufort nc real estate, just to get a feel for the difference in what’s available. I have friends who have left the state in flocks for Tennessee and Texas. You sure get more bang for your buck in those states.
But then, who even knows what the future holds? I may not be tied to this location a year from now.
It is beautiful up here in PA. The southern part of the state doesn’t have the bad winters which are known in the other parts of the state and the cost of living isn’t as high as other parts of the country.
I have been in every state. I love it here, but if I were to move to another state now. I would be living in Flagstaff Arizona. LOL.. (Never Florida…you can’t vacuum sand…aaaahhhhh.)
Nebraska’s great. My wife and I just moved into our new house on August 1st, and we’re loving it.
My parents just sold their house in California and are building a new one here in Omaha that’s twice as big for half the price of what their house in California sold for.
Two kitchens, walk-out basement, whole-house sound system, surround sound speakers implanted in the walls, 4-car garage…almost enough to make you forget that you’re in Nebraska.
