My Daughter, the Hairdresser
I just had my daughter’s hair cut short-ish for the summer. She loves it long, but it gets so hot down here and she inherited a sweat gene for her father. So, it looks cute as a button and girly and sweet. But guess what little Miss Princess did today? She found some craft scissors and cut off a massive chunk of her bangs and one side of her hair. Why? Because she said it was getting in her eyes.
The kid is four. She DOES know better. She just got in a lot of trouble two weeks ago for giving all of her dolls trims. You may ask me, where were YOU when all of this cutting was happening? Do you know any four-year-olds!? It only takes a flash of a second for things like this to occur. I kid you not. I can be in the bathroom or washing some dishes and the entire house can become a war zone.
I’ve been putting the final touches on a lesson plan I am presenting tonight, so today the house is particularly gruesome.
Shorty done the same thing when she was 3 I think. She had never had her hair cut other than trims. I cried and I cried. She done a whack number on it. She got the front, back and the sides were the worse. I cried for days.

I did the exact same thing when I was 4 years old, and last summer my 3 year old cousin took the scissors to her curls. When her mom asked her why she cut her hair she said “the curls were squigly and now I am beautiful.”

My daughter is 17 and should know better. Does she? Nope she still cuts her bangs and messes them up. lol Hopefully your daughter learns. lol
