Life on Florida’s West Coast

Working out

I keep hoping I can get my hands on some home gym equipment someone’s giving away, like happened here in this lucky situation. :)  I’ve been paying monthly for my YMCA membership, but I get so flippin’ bored! If I could be home maybe watching TV while I work out, it would be so much more doable. I don’t have an MP3 player, so I work out at the Y and time just seems to drag. Forever. It’s just not interesting to me. My mind needs to be as occupied as my body.

Did you try freecycle? I noticed that there were
a lot of requests and offers for exercise equipment
in my area. I think there are more requests in the
January – early spring months and then everyone’s
trying to unload the items in the summer when moving
or focusing on outdoor activities. Doubt it would
be the same in Florida’s year-round nice weather though!
Also, try other fitness clubs to see if they have give
aways or low prices on their used equipment – my Dad
bought my sister a nice stationary lifecycle this way
for about $20.

I actually own/moderate the local group here as well as several otehrs in the state. I recently stopped mentoring other groups, due to lack of time. So I am a huge fan of freecycle, but I never seem to get in on the offer in time. I’ll have to post a want, I suppose :)
