I have to say, I have a Samsung camera that I don't recommend. It doesn't take great photos. Anyways...it takes AA batteries and I wish it took proprietory ones as they last and these AA ones go dead in such a short period of time.

I have a Sony R1. It rocks. I love it. It is an expensive camera and they don't make them anymore. If you would get one a nice SLR would probably be a better option now. As the R1's are almost as much even still, but they are a great camera. So...I would think the W80 is a good camera too. The technology in them is probably close to the same.
