Disney has a family package that is affordable and although they use a Carnival ship, I hear they're great. Personally, I think your first cruise should be with a small group of friends. It's relaxing and depending on the cruise line you can have a blast. There is always food. Always activities and marginally entertaining shows. I've even thought about working on one as a comic. Just to get a free trip. My parents went on the original 'Love Boat' before it became 'The love boat' and we have photos of them on the famous staircase. Funny, ain't it? Ah, well...
