I noticed that there were a lot of requests and offers for exercise equipment in my area. I think there are more requests in the January - early spring months and then everyone's trying to unload the items in the summer when moving or focusing on outdoor activities. Doubt it would be the same in Florida's year-round nice weather though! Also, try other fitness clubs to see if they have give aways or low prices on their used equipment - my Dad bought my sister a nice stationary lifecycle this way for about $20. Did you try freecycle?
